Also known as Pincent's Kiln, Wilder's Folly, Nunhide Tower or Flint Folly, this brick tower was built in 1769 by Reverend Henry Wilder while he was courting Joan Thoyt as a token of his love. Situated to the West of Reading, the tower occupies a commanding position on Nunhide Hill overlooking the surrounding Berkshire countryside.

Wilder's Steakhouse, 1216 South Main Street, Joplin, Missouri. This restaurant was opened by Verne Wilder in 1929, making it the oldest restaurant in Joplin. At one point, Wilder's had a restaurant, a men's-only bar, a gambling house, and a bordello, and could seat up to 600 people. The massive neon signage was installed by Verne WIlder to entice travelers from the new Route 66. In the 1970s, it was bought by an Oklahoma tire manufacturer and turned into a more casual spot. Mike and Marsha Pawlus bought the restaurant in 1996 and turned it into Wilder's Steakhouse after doing extensive renovations.
On the night of Sept. 3, 1959 the mafia attempted, but failed, to murder the owner Verne Wilder by blowing up his upstairs office. Organized crime in Kansas City wanted to shut down Wilder's because it was siphoning business away from Kansas City. Six people were injured and one of them died. Five sticks of dynamite were used in the blast directly above Wilder's office. The blast was so powerful it blew away part of the roof.
