Morano: If you actually parse what AOC said, which I admit is painful to actually do -- she's basically saying before the vaccine, we had stay-at-home orders, so they didn't need to go anywhere. So, therefore, an EV fit the bill because I guess the range was so limited. It didn't matter because she then immediately said well, now they're ranges better.
This is the controlled demolition of the American auto unions and the American automobile industry. These EV mandates are coming from California, coming from Joe Biden's EPA, and yet, they're acting as though they're the friends of the union. A million people make non electric cars. Just about 40% of those or 400,000 workers, could lose their job if these EV mandates actually went through.
Morano: The United Nations claims that in order to meet Net Zero, you have to keep the temperatures within 1.5 degrees Celsius. We now know from the Climategate scandal that the entire premise of Net Zero was, quote, 'pulled from thin air'; all of these temperature goals are political statements, and they have no idea how to achieve any temperature goals.
The $75 trillion dollars is similar to estimates for the UN Paris Agreement, which would probably a little bit cheaper, and the Green New Deal, which was a little bit cheaper than these estimates.
The idea is that if we spend enough money, we can finally end the climate emergency. We should all have little party hats and confetti and be throwing it. We're $75 trillion dollars away from not hearing about climate change nonsense. There won't be a climate emergency anymore. All we have to do is write this check, and they'll all go away. Of course, that won't happen. There are no criteria to end this. This is only a down payment in their minds, $75 trillion dollars.

A new paper shows that U.S. tornado damage & strong tornado incidence are both sharply down
ROGER PIELKE JR.: A new paper has just been published by Zhang and colleagues Time trends in losses from major tornadoes in the United States which updates and extends our 2013 analysis. They find: "[B]oth the severity of damage from individual events and the total annual losses from tornadoes are seen to have reduced over time."
Their analysis confirms our earlier work: "[O]ur findings reiterate the results of Simmons et al. (2013) who emphasize the importance of normalizing loss data to draw adequate conclusions about the severity of natural hazards." ...
Zhang et al. also find that the strongest tornadoes have also declined appreciably since 1950. The figure below shows their presentation of trends in tornadoes of various intensities (with F1 the weakest and F5 the strongest). You can see that the incidence of tornadoes of F2 strength and stronger have decreased. In our 2013 analysis we found that ~90% of damage results from tornadoes of F2 strength or stronger.

According to the the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT), the wind sector collected about $2.2 billion in federal tax subsidies in 2022. Last year, the domestic wind sector produced 4.1 EJ of energy. That means the wind sector got roughly $537 million per EJ, or about 41 times more than what was given to the nuclear sector." ...
"What about hydrocarbons? The JCT figures show that federal tax incentives for the hydrocarbon sector totaled about $1.1 billion last year. According to the Statistical Review of World Energy, domestic hydrocarbon production last year totaled about 79 EJ. Thus, the hydrocarbon sector got only slightly more federal tax love than the nuclear sector: about $13.9 million per EJ. That means that solar energy got about 191 times more per EJ produced than what was given to hydrocarbon producers in 2022." ...
